Not on Target
Target ran their Saturday (bulls-eye) circular today, and you'd be hard pressed to find the word Christmas. The ad had lots of ornaments and other Christmas indicia, but nary a word about Christmas. There were ads for "Specialty Trees", specific varieties of evergreens such as Wispy Willow, Northfield Pine, and Bowerman Pine. Of course, that's really just a weasel-ish way of avoiding the word Christmas.
Oh, well, at least they would have Christmas Wreaths, no? Well, there's the circular arrangement of evergreen boughs, looking much like the Target ring. But what's this, it's not a wreath, but Holiday Greenery. Cash is holiday greenery folks, a wreath is a wreath!!
There were plenty of "holiday lights", "holiday prices", and of course wrapping paper with Holiday designs.
Oh sure, they have one big MerryChristmas sign at the front of each store this year, but that's about it. I guess that was intended to keep people like us from bitching about them in public. Sorry, it didn't work.
